Let me take you back to a warm, summer evening in the Mediterranean in 2021, more specifically in Polignano a Mare, Italy. It was around sunset, and the vibes were so dreamy that you'd think you were in a romance movie. Well, that's exactly where I found myself when I witnessed one of the most magical engagement in front of me!

Pinch me, because even to this day, it feels like I'm dreaming…

Italian summer engagement in Polignano a Mare, Puglia, Italy

The evening started just like any other during our vacation in Puglia, Italy, where my camera was in my hand just like always, ready to capture the breathtaking landscapes, all the small details and local wonders. However, destiny had its plans that day! I stumbled upon a heartfelt engagement, and without a second thought, I discreetly froze that magical moment for the couple. Little did I know, that spontaneous act would mark the beginning of an incredible journey for me. Seeing their love story through my lens was simply unforgettable, a feeling I have never felt before because at that time I usually took photos about my travels, but that evening… it really got me. Something definitely changed that day!

2 YEARS LATER

Fast forward two years, and there I was, in the middle of their beautiful wedding at Ristorante Carlo Magno in Brescia, Italy, not far from Garda Lake, all set to capture another chapter of their beautiful journey but this time with an extra touch of sweetness, their beautiful daughter, Vittoria, right by their side.

BRIDAL PREPARATIONS

At Tania's place, the bridal preparations were next level. I was there to document the magic – from the makeup and hair makeover to the whole getting ready scene. Her mom was right there, adding a sprinkle of warmth and assistance while Tania was multitasking like a pro with Vittoria during the “glam chaos”.

Tania's beautiful dress was from Atelier Emé and she had a special unique veil, which here was not to be worn on the head but around the neck, and as a cape and it was very special. And her shoes were Matteo PITTI, made in Italy.

THE WEDDING

The wedding venue was stunning, inside and out, the view of Brescia from Ristorante Carlo Magno was pretty amazing there and that little rain didn't ruin a thing, if anything, it added a touch of magic to the day.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and touching, the happiest tears filled the air. Each word carried a promise that felt so real, surrounded by family and friends. It wasn't just about the words, it was about the shared joy and love in the moment.

As guests arrived, there was a very cool mozzarella stand where the staff served this delicious treat freshly made among other extraordinary snacks, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary experience (ahh, why I didn't think of such a thing and got it for my own wedding back in the day…). The standout dinner move? The risotto Mantecato Con Crema Di Carciofi – a culinary masterpiece that hit all the senses not to mention the chocolate fountain after that.

I also got the chance to dive into these heavenly pastries made by Iginio Massari, the legendary Italian pastry chef. Every bite was like a flavor explosion, a mix of tastes and textures that made the day even more memorable. Oh, and let's talk about the wedding cake for a moment — a showstopper, to be real. It was the three-tiered Charlotte Ai Frutti Di Bosco by the maestro himself, Italians just call it "i dolci per le feste," and trust me, it's a sweet symphony you won't forget soon.

LA FESTA

When it comes to parties, Italians know how to own the moment. It's not just about celebrating, it's about diving into the vibe, feeling the rhythm, and savoring every second. The music at the party was top-notch, and there was also Matteo Righetti, working his magic with the saxophone. So yeah… Italians sure know how to throw a party with the right beats!

THE NEXT DAY

The next day for lunch, Tania and Gian invited us to join their family and friends! They were so kind and welcoming, it was a real pleasure to see them again the next day and get to know them better!

There's something incredibly special about being a part of a couple's journey from the very beginning. Witnessing the magic of their engagement, capturing those raw emotions and the unfiltered joy, is nothing short of a privilege. It's a glimpse into the purest form of love.

Tania and Gianluca, thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful journey. Your love story has left a huge mark on my heart, and it's been an absolute honor capturing your special moments. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.

Grazie mille!

“I think that Dia is an angel sent from somebody who really loves me up there:) we got engaged at Polignano, and we did not know, but she was right behind us making memories for us for lifetime. I could not believe she made for us such a gift! And the pics where incredible ... so I exchanged telephone numbers, and kept in touch... while I was organizing the wedding, choosing the photographer for our big day, she was the first person that got in my mind: she's the one , I thought.

So, directly from Budapest, she flight all way down to Italy to make other great memories for us. We could not choose a better person and professional photographer, so creative and unique. Grazie Dia, we love you!”
